Question by joe123: why does the Wifi turn off on Speedtouch 585 v6 when i use VOIP internet phone adapter (linksys)?
the VOIP adapter and a desktop are connected via LAN. My laptops are hooked up through WIFI. Everytime i recieve a call on VOIP, the wifi on my router stops responding. As soon as i hang up, it starts working again.

Best answer:

Answer by Mr. VoIP
Could be a few factors.

It sounds like you have 3 or 4 devices on your network, so there could possibly be a data bottleneck.

If your Router has QOS enabled, it may be giving highest data priority to the VoIP ATA. Although, you want QOS to give highest priority to VoIP because it is real-time and can’t tolerate delayed or dropped packets.

Is your VoIP phone that is connected to the RJ-11 jack on the ATA a Cordless phone? If so, is it 2.4 or 5.8 GHz phone?
It is possilbe the cordless phone is causing RFI to the WiFi connection your laptops are relying on.
Test with a corded phone connected to ATA. If that reduces the problem, then just use corded phone, or get a DECT 6.0 phone which uses the dedicated 1.9 Ghz band. DECT 6 should not interfere with Wifi connections. In either case, always separate cordless phone base units from WiFi transmitters/receivers to reduce possibility of RFI between wireless devices.

Morse Communications replaced the IP switching network with the Alcatel-Lucent OmniSwitch 6850 10 GigE fiber concentrator and the OmniSwitch 6400 delivering 1GigE with Power over Ethernet to the desktop. Morse Communications installed Alcatel-Lucent?s state of the art IP hybrid telephone solution, the OmniPCX Enterprise ? putting a phone in each classroom for safety, and setup a robust wireless LAN solution to meet the demands of NWSC ?one-to-one computing? initiative.

?Morse was pleased to be able to gain the trust of North White School Corporation with the replacement and deployment of a mission critical education network,? says Bryan May, Director of sales for Morse Communications, Inc. ?We are continuing our partnership with North White School Corporation by supporting their K-12 Technology Initiatives and looking to further secure the NWSC network with the Fortigate security appliance and SafeNAC, network access control solution. Morse is looking forward to a long partnership with the North White School Corporation.?

Morse Communications has experience with education customers, supporting many small and large school districts around the country. Morse continues to develop custom education solutions such as Safe Campus solutions, parent notification solution and school lockdown solutions.

?The Morse implementation team was fantastic and the support from Morse and Alcatel-Lucent has been excellent. NWSC could not have prepared to meet the future of IT without Morse,? says Steve Land, LAN Administrator and Director of Technology for NWSC. ?The Alcatel-Lucent solutions are rock solid and we are able to achieve networking speeds and response times which make us (students, teachers, staff and Administrators) more productive.?

Between a Hollywood superstar and a voice actor, the latter realistically works harder. It’s real tough for him to show feelings and emotions while reading, fully knowing that he will not be seen on the screen. The voice actor must be able to empathize with the persona that he portrays and make sure that he breathes life into the script. This is where voice over training comes into play.

Voice over training aids voice actors learn the craft and find gainful employment in a growing area. There are 1000s of cartoon and animated TV shows, web shows, TV/radio advertisements, web videos, and movies being made regularly. Moreover, each movie/TV show has a cast of more than 20-30 characters. The opportunities for a voice talent basically abound internationally.

Basic skills required to join a voice over training course

One of the most important tools of the trade is diction. Perfect enunciation is required from the student, hence, it is necessary for him to go to speech classes to perfect his diction. A voice talent would always have two roles to perform – the “acting,” and the “lending voice.” This means that getting a perfect diction is not enough to be able to join a voice over training, enrolling in an acting course is also essential for the student.

What’s taught in a voiceover training program

Analyzing and interpreting commercial copy for announcer and real-person roles are learned by the student. Interpreting narrative copy, as well as technical copy, are learned as well. The course educates the student how to proficiently coordinate mind, mouth and voice so that he can sound true to his character. The student also learns how to take direction.

A great voice actor training course makes students read, record, play back, listen, and then do it all over again until they get it right. Students learn tactics such as inflection, timing and articulation. They perform warm-ups and vocal exercises as well. They understand how to maintain their vocal health. Half-way into the voice over training course, students become proficient at using and modifying tone, pitch, delivery speed and volume for a variety of jobs.

After the main training is over, students learn how to market their skills, tap the right contacts, and get voice over work. Instructors of the voice over course also assist them in creating a voice over demo, which would become part of their portfolio. An opportunity to experience working in a real studio is offered in a solid voice over training course for students. They also learn what the do’s and don’ts are whenever they are behind the microphone or in a sound booth.

Choosing a voice over training course

There are two facets to voice training. A commercial voice over course must be chosen by students who are interested in selling. Commercial voice talents are used for selling. TV advertisements, radio ads, phone and other media feature these voice overs. Selling skills are also covered by a voice over course since all commercial voice overs sell a service or a product. Acting skills are not covered by this course. Students who are interested in showbiz must opt for a TV and movie voice over and dubbing program. Such courses require lip-synching, and so the voice over actor has to learn acting skillsets too.

To end, all the world’s a stage and we must play a part. So, if you want to play your part as a voice actor, enroll for a reputed voice actor training program and learn how to raise your voice.

A voice actor essentially works harder than a Hollywood superstar. It is quite tough for a voice actor to put feelings and emotions to what he is reading, all the while knowing that he’s not seen on screen. The voice actor must be able to empathize with the character that he portrays and make sure that he breathes life into the script. It is in this area where voice over training is essential.

Voice over artists are able to master the craft of voice acting and find good employment in this field by going through voice over training. There are 1000s of cartoon and animated TV shows, web shows, TV/radio advertisements, web videos, and movies being made regularly. Moreover, each movie/TV show has a cast of more than 20-30 characters. There are worldwide opportunities galore for a voice actor.

Voice over training course – the fundamental skills that you ought to have

Diction is one of the most important tools of the trade. The student must have perfect enunciation and therefore must attend speech classes to get his diction right. Every voice over actor has two roles to fulfill – “lending voice” and “acting.” So, perfect diction is not enough to begin voice over training – the student must also enroll in an acting course before joining the voice over course.

What does a voiceover training course teach?

Assessing and interpreting commercial copy for announcer and real-person roles are learned by the student. He also comes to understand how to interpret narrative copy and gets the hang of technical copy as well. Students learn how to coordinate the mind, mouth and voice effectively, so that they may be able to sound really true to the personality they are playing. Taking direction is also mastered by the student.

A great voice actor training program makes students read, record, play back, listen, and then do it all over again until they get it right. Students learn techniques such as inflection, timing and articulation. They perform warm-ups and vocal exercises as well. They figure out how to preserve their voice health. When students are already half-way into the voice over training course, they become skilled at using and adjusting pitch, tone, volume and delivery speed to cater to various types of jobs.

After the main training is over, students learn how to market their skills, tap the right contacts, and get voice over work. The course instructors also help them create a voice over demo for their portfolio. A solid voice over training course provides students the opportunity to work in a real studio and understand what they should and shouldn’t do in a sound booth and when behind the microphone.

Selecting a voice over training program

There are two aspects to voice training. A commercial voice over course must be opted for by students who are interested in selling. Commercial voice talents are employed for selling. Several of the areas that require this type of voice overs are radio ads, TV advertisements, phone and other media features. Selling skills are also covered by a voice over course considering that all commercial voice overs sell a service or a product. Acting skills are not dealt with by this course. If a student is fascinated in showbiz, then he should opt for dubbing and a movie or TV voice over course. Lip-synching is required by such courses, hence, the voice over talent also must have to master acting skills.

To end, all the world’s a stage and we must play a part. So, if you want to play your part as a voice actor, enroll for a well-known voice actor training course and learn how to raise your voice.

Many of VoIP companies that offers free VoIP services offers only VoIP calls to certain locations for free.

There are hundreds of VoIP providers. to choose from and this number is growing by the week.

-If you are a business that uses features such as three-way conferencing, voicemail, call waiting, caller ID, Internet fax and more look for a package is suitable for business use.

-If you want free international calls, and you don’t mind a few limitations, consider a VoIP provider that offers free PC-to-PC international calls.

-If you love the sound of VoIP, but aren’t prepared to put up with the restrictions above, it’s worth considering a completely different, much more flexible way of implementing VoIP and making cheap international calls. You can, of course, combine these two ways of implementing VoIP and tailor-make a system that’s perfect for you.

It depends on your own needs and calling habits.

-If you make a lot of long distance calls you’ll really want to pay attention to the plans and the provider that you go with. Some VoIP providers don’t distinguish between local and long distance calls, so you basically get all your calls one month for just a service fee.

-If you are regularly on the move and connect to the Internet at various locations, your VoIP Providers will keep track of your current IP address which will allow other people to contact you no matter where you are. To find out more about the different VoIP Service Providers, price plans and features they provide, see our VoIP Provider pages and read our VoIP Service Reviews.

Question by krogz: Does anyone know if Verizon Wireless charges to get a hold of old billing statements with call logs?
I was wondering because I don’t have a Verizon phone and one of my roommates is accusing me of using his phone when he leaves it lying around. So I told him to get the call logs of old bills so we can go over his calls and compare the numbers and prove to him that I haven’t used his phone. But he tells me that Verizon charges to get a hold of old billing statements with call logs and he doesn’t want to pay. I tell him that I’ll pay and then he says that my idea is stupid.

Also, are old billing statements with call logs available on line through a verizon account?

Please help and thanks for the help.

San Francisco, CA & Stockholm, Sweden (PRWEB) February 10, 2012

Rebtel, the world?s largest mobile VoIP company after Skype (based on revenue), today announces significant strides since its inception in 2006 with more than 15 million users and a total of 500 million calls ever made and two billion minutes of international calls logged.

Rebtel has been profitable since 2010 and its average revenue per user (ARPU) is three times higher than Skype. Skype currently operates an ARPU of around $ 8 per month; Rebtel?s ARPU is around $ 24. Rebtel?s figures show it increased revenues by more than 55% in 2011 and hit $ 60 million in revenue. Its predicted the revenue run rate for December 2012 lies at $ 95 million. The milestones come at critical time in the company?s history as Rebtel is currently growing at a rate of 500,000 users per month.

The company attributes its success to its dedication to core business values of transparency, honesty and cutting-edge innovation focused on helping people communicate internationally. Its customer loyalty is high with 96% of users stating they would recommend Rebtel to a friend during its customer satisfaction survey in December 2011. Rebtel?s word of mouth recommendations are an integral part of its growth as it drives registrations and accounts for over two-thirds of new user registrations.

Take a break from this hurried life and try looking at what others are involved into. The reality is not very different from yours. They are too busy in running after others in a bid to reach the summit of success. These are the times when you have to be compulsorily multi-tasked, or let me add an efficient multi-tasked person. Only then can you survive or live in this highly competitive world.

What does it mean to be a multi-tasked person? Each of us can be the one but it demands to be a smart working and an alert person who can take care of lots of things happening simultaneously. One can provide you the facility but the efficient usage depends upon you. The procedure can be eased a bit by making the things functional in a user friendly manner. This is what has been exactly done by VoIP technology.

Taking into consideration the point that people have to do loads to things in lesser, they have made it possible to get the VoIP Cellular.

Mobiles, from the time they have come into the picture, have changed the face of telecommunication Industry. It is no more traditional but has entered the phase of modernity. With the encroachment of new technologies for good, it is now possible to use the internet connection for making cheap VoIP calls saving your money.

Your cell phone is your pocket PC these days. While you are on your way, you can upload or download videos, text messaging, browsing, email, and last but not least VoIP services. Today’s phones have in built multiple radios which allow you to have access to the cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth frequencies. You can also frequently switch from cellular network to the Internet connection allowing you to make cheaper VoIP calls.

Today’s phones are quite appropriately categorised in two categories called CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access), GSM (Global System Mobile).

Both of them have internet connections which can be used to make cheaper international calls. There is another instance to show the way we have used mobiles in earlier times. The arrival of Bluetooth wireless technology allows its users to download and upload media, files and photos to another person. You can also talk to the other person over a low band short range radio frequency.

There are appropriate calling cards available. You can use them according to your expenses. There are some free minutes available as well which allows extending your call to some extent.
